Petty Officer 1st Class Richard Lewis, of Batesville, Ark., leads recruits from Division 253 in fighting a fire at Recruit Training Command's fire fighting school. Division 253 is the third Special Warfare Operations division to go through recruit training. The division is made up of rating candidates for special warfare operator, special warfare boat operator, Navy diver and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD). It is part of a new Navy and Special Warfare Command initiative to grow the ranks of SEALs, littoral and riverboat squadrons, dive units and EOD detachments.
