Lt. Col. Sam Aldridge, the lead surgeon with the 948th Forward Surgical Team and a native of Gilford, N.H., demonstrates for members of the forward surgical team at Forward Operating Base Wright various ways to suture a wound May 7. The forward surgical team conducts regular training sessions to ensure all members stay sharp with various lifesaving techniques. The forward surgical team is a multibranch team comprised of members of the Army, Navy and Air Force.
