Deployed Soldiers assigned to Role II participated in a mass casualty (MASCAL) exercise Sep. 18, at Al Asad Airbase (AAAB), Iraq. By exercising a MASCAL, medical personnel had an opportunity to practice immediate medical care capabilities at AAAB. Upon activation of the Walking Blood Bank, volunteers on a pre-screened list are called to have blood drawn and immediately tested for use in surgeries. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. 1st Class Tracy L.
