Col. Jerry Arends, Innovative Readiness Training Mission director for Alabama Care 2012, provides Dr. Robert Bentley, governor of Alabama, and George P. Evans, mayor of Selma, Ala., with a tour of a medical clinic set up by military members for Alabama Care 2012 in Selma, Ala., May 4. IRT Alabama Care 2012 is an Air National Guard led, multi-service mission comprised of active, reserve, and National Guard members from Army, Navy and Air Force components providing service members with readiness training while providing Alabama residents with free health services such as dental, optometry and medical screenings in the medically under-served and economically depressed communities of Selma, Demopolis and Hayneville, Ala.
