A military color guard ceremony is taking place in what appears to be a Dutch town square, with soldiers in mixed uniforms carrying multiple national flags including the United States flag and the Netherlands flag. The formation includes both male and female soldiers, some in modern camouflage (MultiCam/OCP) and one in a historical brown uniform, carrying rifles and national/unit colors. Civilians and spectators line the background near brick residential buildings typical of Dutch architecture.

Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Honor Guard along with Dutch and the United Kingdom service members march as part of a parade to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the village of Eerde, the Netherlands Sept. 18, 2019. This event is just one of the many events commemorating the largest airborne operation in history, Operation Market Garden, which was aimed at liberating the Netherlands and gaining a foothold into Nazi Germany by crossing the Maas, Waal, and ultimately the Rhine River. To this day, generations of Dutch remember the bravery and sacrifice of more than 41,600 troops from the US, UK, and Poland who together constituted the Allied Airborne Army. Commemorations honoring the Allied soldiers who participated in the historic airborne operation which liberated several Dutch towns take place Sept. 14-22, 2019.
