GULF OF ALASKA (September 16, 2019) – Quartermaster Seaman Apprentice Susan Sarmiento, assigned to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 1, records entries in the deck log aboard Landing Craft, Utility (LCU) 1665 as part of Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise (AECE) 2019. Approximately 3,000 U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel participate in AECE 2019, a joint training exercise that tests expeditionary logistical capabilities in the Arctic region and prepares joint forces to respond to crises across the Indo-Pacific.
