GULF OF ALASKA (September 16, 2019) – Seabees assigned to Beach Masters Unit (BMU) 1 prepare to disembark Landing Craft, Utility (LCU) 1665, attached to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 1, to set up a base of operations as part of Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise (AECE) 2019. Approximately 3,000 U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel participate in AECE 2019, a joint training exercise that tests expeditionary logistical capabilities in the Arctic region and prepares joint forces to respond to crises across the Indo-Pacific.
