U.S. Navy Lt. James Salassi, an operational physiologist with Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, teaches infantry Marines how to properly use night vision equipment during a Night Vision Device Course at the Marine Aviation Training Systems Site on Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, California, Sept. 17, 2019. The course, normally taught to Marine aviators, is part of an initiative to create a standardized curriculum for night vision devices for Marines who are part of the ground combat element of a Marine Air-Ground Task Force. Marines with 1st Marine Division are the first to receive the curriculum so far. (U.S. Marine Corps photos by Sgt. Emmanuel Necoechea)
