    190913-N-JQ019-1031
OAK HARBOR, Wash. (Sept. 13, 2019) — Chief (Select) Aircrewman (Operator) Michael Hauselmann, left, and Chief (Select) Aviation Ordnanceman Christian McGregor, right, both attached to Patrol Squadron (VP) 47, pose for a picture prior to the commencement of the fiscal year 2020 Naval Air Station Whidbey Island's chief petty officer (CPO) pinning ceremony. The ceremony is the culmination of a six-week-long intense training cycle that has been built off of almost two and a half centuries of naval heritage and 126 years of CPO tradition, preparing chief selectees to become the next generation of CPOs to lead and train junior Sailors in the fleet. VP-47 flies the P-8A Poseidon, the Navy's premiere long-range anti-submarine warfare platform. The "Golden Swordsmen" recently finished up Dynamic Mongoose as well as supporting Submarine's Commander's Course and is currently standing Homeland Defense Ready.
