(September 12, 2019) A crane aboard SS Petersburg (T-AOT-9101) lowers a hose to the deck to connect it to conduit and pumping equipment to enable Offshore Petroleum Discharge System operations for the Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise (AECE). Approximately 3,000 U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel participate in AECE 2019, a joint training exercise that tests expeditionary logistical capabilities in the Arctic and Southern California regions and prepares joint forces to respond to crises across the Indo-Pacific.
