A group photo of approximately 15 people, including several U.S. Army soldiers in camouflage uniforms and civilians, posing together in front of what appears to be a library or community center. A French-language sign reading 'AU LIEU DE MAUDIRE' is visible on the wall behind them, along with bookshelves filled with books. The setting suggests a humanitarian or community engagement mission.

U.S. Army Africa commander Maj. Gen. David R. Hogg is part of a group of soldiers and civilians who support services at a library in Ali Sabieh, Djibouti. Hogg, Command Sgt. Major Hu Rhodes and a small team of advisors traveled to Ali Sabieh to visit with members of the U.S. Army’s 490th Civil Affair Battalion. Civil Affairs teams from the 490th have developed English discussion groups at the library as well as coordinate reading and study materials donations. Hogg and a small group of advisors visited U.S. Army troops at the Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa in Djibouti and attended meetings with African Union mission leaders in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, April 24-27.
