KODIAK, Alaska (Sept. 11, 2019) – Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Anna Martinez, assigned to amphibious dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45), demonstrates traditional naval signals on a boatswain's pipe to East Elementary School students during a community outreach event as part of Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise (AECE) 2019. Approximately 3,000 U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel participate in AECE 2019, a joint training exercise that tests expeditionary logistical capabilities in the Arctic region and prepares joint forces to respond to crises across the Indo-Pacific.
