U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Resident Engineer Brian Tempio, Civil Engineer Mark Venti and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers South Carolina Emergency Operations Center Battle Captain Capt. Christopher Ren conduct a site visit to Semmes Lake Dam, Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina, to inspect the construction site in preparation for Hurricane Dorian on Sept. 3.
During the historic flooding event in October 2015 Semmes Lake Dam was breached. Fort Jackson, with assistance from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, partnered to develop solutions and are currently building a new dam.
