Navy chaplains, family members and Marines joined in a round of applause for Lake Orion, Mich., native Navy Capt. Steven Brown on being awarded the John H. Craven Servant Leadership Award, May 1. The peer-nominated award was presented to Brown, who demonstrated the Chaplain Corps’ four core capabilities of facilitation, provision, care and advisement during his yearlong deployment to Afghanistan as the chaplain for II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).
