Sonar Technician Surface First Class Jason Caldito and Ship's Serviceman First Class Billie Jean Tamillie, both selected to become chief petty officers, practice firefighting during a damage control challenge hosted by COMSUBPAC's Chief Petty Officers Association on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Sailors who are selected for promotion to chief petty officer go through six weeks of initiation training, to include leadership and physical training, to become better suited in their new roles as senior enlisted leaders.
