190822-N-BM202-2059 GREAT LAKES, Ill. (Aug. 22, 2019) Hull Maintenance Technician 1st Class Adam A. Vasquez receives a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal from Capt. Erik Thors, Recruit Training Command’s commanding officer for his life-saving actions. Vasquez recognized a recruit was choking during dinner and performed the Heimlich maneuver; dislodging the obstruction and saving the recruit’s life.
