Capt. Richard Mard, secretary of the general staff officer, 4th Infantry Division, competes to become a member of the Fort Carson Army 10-Miler Team, April 26, 2012. Mard finished the course second with a time of 1:03.55. Fort Carson will host additional qualifiers, May 10 and 24, for Soldiers interested in representing the installation during the annual event. The eight males and eight females with the fastest times from any of the qualifiers will represent Fort Carson during the Army 10-Miler in Washington, D.C., Oct. 21.
