U.S. Army Gen. Stephen Townsend, commander, U.S. Africa Command, shakes hands with Maj. Gen. Prince Johnson, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia, Aug. 13, 2019. Townsend met with Chiefs of Defense from Liberia, Ghana, and Malawi Aug. 13-14 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. He also met with a representative from the Botswana Defence Force. Townsend and the African generals participated in the Africa Senior Enlisted Leader Conference.
