Senior officials from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, United States military, and local government attended the dedication ceremony for the school as part of Exercise Balikatan 2012. The visit consisted of a ribbon cutting ceremony of a new two-room classroom built by the joint efforts of Philippine Navy Seabees from 4th Naval Construction Battalion and U.S. Marines from MWSS-172. BK12, in its 28th iteration, is an annual bilateral training exercise developed to enhance joint planning, contingency, humanitarian and disaster relief capabilities of both nations.
