Colour Sgt. Pete Taylor, a Royal Marines fitness instructor, demonstrates the lift and carry portion of the Royal Marines fitness test on Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C. Aug. 9, 2019. The fitness test consisted of a 45-minute four-kilometer hike with a pack weighing 89 pounds, a 32-minute, four-kilometer hike with a pack weighing 56 pounds, a casualty drag of 243 pounds for 66 feet, a casualty evacuation carry of two 50-pound water jugs for 132 yards and a repeated lift and carry of two ammo cans for 33 yards, 20 times in under 14 minutes.
