Willie discovered a dog tag in 2017, which with the support of the late Mr. John Innes, eventually led to the discovery of the remains of PFC Dale W. Ross, a 25th Infantry Division soldier killed in the fighting on Guadalcanal during WWII. The ceremony marks the 77th anniversary of the Battle of Guadalcanal and is a historic reminder of how the dedicated resolve of allies with a common purpose and shared vision builds proven partnerships that endure, while maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
