Staff Sgt. Dakota Bowen, a drill sergeant with 3rd Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment, traverses an obstacle during the Fort Jackson Best Warrior Competition. Bowen began his journey in competition to be named the best. After winning the Fort Jackson Best Warrior Competition, he went on to compete and win at the TRADOC level. Bowen will compete again later this year for the highest honor of Department of the Army Best Warrior competition.
