Airman 1st Class Joshua Wetzel, 7th Equipment Maintenance Squadron metals technology journeyman, welds two steel plates together to stay current on his tee joint welding certification at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, July 25, 2019. Tee joint welding is when two joints intersect at a 90 degree angle which makes the edges come together in the center of a plate or component. A new augmented reality welding system enables new Airmen to receive the necessary training to become proficient at their jobs while saving time and money.
