190725-M-QR315-1114 ARABIAN GULF (July 25, 2019) Marines with the Maritime Raid Force, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) ride in a rigid-hull inflatable boat operated by Sailors from Assault Craft Unit 1, during a visit, board, search and seizure exercise. The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and the 11th MEU are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
