McWilliams, the outgoing commanding officer of Combat Logistics Battalion 8, 2nd MLG, and his efforts in Afghanistan during an award ceremony aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., April 19, 2012. McWilliams received the Bronze Star for leading his Marines on an extremely kinetic deployment through improvised explosive device-laden terrain completing more than 120 convoys to deliver approximately 12,500 tons of cargo and 2.5 million gallons of fuel.
