Pfc. John Russo, an infantryman with 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, receives his Expert Infantryman Badge April 19 here during a “Raider Day” ceremony. Russo, a Daytona Beach, Fla., native, and other soldiers of 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, received news during the ceremony of the brigade’s first deployment to Afghanistan this fall.
