190801-N-DQ787-0517 CORAL SEA (August 1, 2019)- An F-35B Lightning II aircraft, assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 265 (Reinforced), flies above the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) as it transits the Coral Sea. Wasp, flagship of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready response force for any type of contingency.
