Heartfelt hugs... Chief Hospital Corpsman (Select) Danny Williams is congratulated upon his selection as Naval Hospital Bremerton (NHB) command leadership and Chief Petty Officer Mess members gathered on July 31, 2019, to continue the long tradition of announcing the command's new United States Navy chief petty officers. NHB welcomed six selectees to the mess; Chief Hospital Corpsman (Select) Dawn Dillow, Chief Hospital Corpsman (Select) Annel Eustaquio, Chief Hospital Corpsman (Select) Piotor Juchniewicz, currently forward deployed to Kuwait; Chief Hospital Corpsman (Select) Shawn Stone, prospective gain to the command Chief Hospital Corpsman (Select) Steven Dreher, and Chief Hospital Corpsman (Select) Danny Williams. "Leadership, accountability, and responsibility like no other service are all hallmarks of a Navy chief. Thank you all for your exceptional sustained superior performance. Congratulations ," said Capt. Jeffrey Bitterman, NHB commanding officer. NHB Command Master Chief Robert Stockton noted, "There's over 75 years of Navy experience in caring for Sailors and providing for patients in the four - Dillow, Eustaquio, Stone and Williams - we had here today, not counting our deployed selectee and incoming to the command selectee. Congratulations to them all." Stockton also took time to address first class petty officers who did not get selected, reminding them that they are central to everything that is accomplished at NHB and in the Navy, as a whole. "Usually the first influential person in the life of an enlisted Sailor is their leading petty officer. From taking care of the Sailor to planning their work schedule, developing their planning plan, and laying the foundation for their professional and personal development, our first classes have immeasurable impact on their lives. They also shape our ability to accomplish our mission. When you look across our command, you can see the impact of their leadership. They help our hospital and clinics provide the best patient care every day. I'm proud of our first class mess. Each year, we get an opportunity to select the best qualified among them to join the hallowed halls of the CPO Mess. Many factors go into the selection process. The number one selection factor is sustained superior performance," explained Stockton, noting that only a few get selected, and for those who did not, the command will continue their commitment to their career development (Official Navy photo by Douglas H Stutz, Naval Hospital Bremerton Public Affairs).
