Newly retired U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Ronald L. Green, 18th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, thanks the veterans in the audience that had served before him, during his remarks during his retirement ceremony at the Home of the Commandants on Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., July 26, 2019; further noting that their sacrifices are what made it possible for him to serve and be successful today. This ceremony was held to honor Green’s 35 years and 8 months of faithful service to the Corps, where he was the longest serving Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps to date, holding the position four years and five months.
