190713-M-ET529-1025 CAMP ARIFJAN, KUWAIT (July 13, 2019) U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Alex Heinen, an M1A1 Abrams tank mechanic with Combat Logistics Battalion 11, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), conducts routine maintenance on an AGT 1500 pack system at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and the 11th MEU are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
