Spc. David Brown, a combat medic with Company A, 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, shakes hands with Gen. James C. McConville, the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, and receives a challenge coin for excellence after a physical training event at Fort Bliss, Texas, July 22. Brown uses his free time on the weekends to ensure that Soldiers in his unit are taking the necessary steps to best rehabilitate their injuries, maintains his company’s medical readiness and retains a high level of proficiency in his Soldier and medic skills. He is currently completing a certificate program in physical therapy.
