    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Small Craft Operators Team, assists and supports Corps biologists in the collection of the alligator flea beetle on Lake Woodruff, in the Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge. The little beetle is one of the methods that the Corps uses to control the invasive alligator weed. The alligator weed blocks transportation routes, threaten native species, and reduces water capacity in our reservoirs. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Invasive Management Species Branch is committed to providing technical support for the control of invasive species in our national and regional ecosystem restoration program.
