Sgt. John W. Jefferson, of the Starkville-based Headquarters, 2nd Battalion, 114th Field Artillery, 155th Armored Brigade Combat Team, Mississippi Army National Guard, recently completed new equipment training for the Meteorological Measure Set-Profiler. The profiler system combines military and commercial technologies that feed real-time high-altitude weather data into indirect firing solutions, resulting in more accurate field artillery strikes. Jefferson, as chief of his field artillery survey/meteorological section, serves as the section leader and subject matter expert; and serves as a counselor with Community Counseling Services in West Point, Miss., in his civilian career.
