The Minnesota National Guard's 34th Combat Aviation Brigade activated to support wildfire containment near Nimrod, Minn. Brigade units deployed one UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, one CH-47 Chinook helicopter and 12 soldiers to help local responders suppress the wildfire that destroyed 1,400 acres of woods and brush. In order to maintain a competent, ready force and support communities throughout Minnesota, the 34th CAB regularly trains to be an effective response force.
