    A Royal Moroccan Armed Forces soldier conducts patrolling drills with Marines during African Lion 2012 at the Peacekeeping Support Operation exercise site in Tifnit, Morocco, April 10, 2012. AL-12 is a U.S. African Command-sponsored, Marine Forces Africa-led exercise designed to improve interoperability and mutual understanding of the United States and Kingdom of Morocco's military tactics, techniques and procedures. More than 1,200 U.S. Service members and 900 Moroccan soldiers took part in the bilateral, annual exercise currently in its 8th year.
