Coalition Forces are training the new Iraqi Army and Iraqi Police Departments in the required techniques that will eventually allow for complete removal of Coalition Forces. Iraqi Police and Iraqi Army Soldiers were responsible for security and crowd control at a medical civil action project in Lutafiyah, Iraq sponsored by Soldiers from 407th Civil Affairs Battalion attached to 2nd Battalion, 70th Armor Regiment of 3rd Brigade, 1st Armor Division. 407th Civil Affairs provided aide to several hundred local citizens handing out care packages, baby formula and hygiene items. During the MEDCAP, several rounds fired from an AK47 machine gun had children running through out the streets seeking shelter. The crowd maintained its composure and chaos did not ensue. Iraqi Police and Iraqi Army Soldiers were efficient and professional and quickly took control of the situation with no required involvement from Coalition Forces . The Iraqi people are growing more confident in the new Iraqi Police and Iraqi Army Soldiers
