Craparotta awarded Barbabella the Legion of Merit, one of the military’s highest awards for his service as the 2nd Marine Division (Forward) division surgeon. “It’s a privilege for me as a medical doctor out there to take care of guys who sacrifice so much,” said Barbabella. “There is a lot of supporting cast out there – among them, my wife, whose unwavering support allows me to do my job. It was an honor to be a part of that team and take care of these guys.” Craparotta served as the 2nd MarDiv (Fwd) commanding general and presented the award during the ceremony.
