Antarctica. (Nov. 7, 2008) Kathy Gebhard, Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic training coordinator, poses on Crater Hill in Antarctica. In 2008, Gebhard worked as an air traffic controller in Antarctica as part of NIWC Atlantic’s role in supporting the National Science Foundation. Her story is one of four in the Faces of Freedom series highlighting the bravery and dedicated service of NIWC Atlantic military veterans.
