Kreitz, deputy director for operations, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), Georgene Hayes, niece, Josyln Arora Scruggs, grand niece, and Vernon Dead Russell, grand nephew of U.S Navy Fireman 1st Class Leonard R. Geller, render honors during a funeral at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii, July 16, 2019. Geller was assigned to the USS Oklahoma which sustained fire from Japanese aircraft and multiple torpedo hits causing the ship to capsize and resulted in the deaths of over 400 crew members on Dec. 7, 1941, at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor. Geller was accounted for by DPAA on Jan. 9, 2018 and returned to his family for burial with full military honors. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Jamarius Fortson)
