Maj. Gen. Jeff Milhorn made remarks about Capt. Vu Mai and his work for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers North Atlantic Division as an operations officer and member of the emergency management team.
During his tour, Capt. Mai also deployed to Puerto Rico following Hurricanes Maria and Irma to support the Corps' Task Force Power that reestablished the island's electrical grid alongside the local utility company, PREPA.
A graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, Capt. Mai is a U.S. Army Reserve engineer officer from Buffalo, New York where he attended Bishop Timon - St. Jude High School. Prior to joining our division, his Army service included deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. His next job will be as a civilian emergency management specialist with Baltimore District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
