Army veteran Erin Schaefer loads his recumbent-style hand cycle into his truck, April 4, at the Warrior Transition Battalion on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., during a cycling clinic hosted on JBLM by the Wounded Warrior Project, April 4 and 5. The clinic introduced soldiers with the WTB and area veterans to hand cycles and took them on an 11-mile ride they completed with bikes fitted by and borrowed from Invacare and other manufacturers. Schaefer has been into hand-cycling for the past year.
