Maj. Gen. Jon Jensen, the adjutant general of the Minnesota National Guard, speaks with Tech. Sgt. Donald Halverson, a World War II veteran at the 16th annual Minnesota Twins Armed Forces Appreciation Day on July 7, 2019, at Target Field in Minneapolis. The 96-year-old served as a special weapons platoon sergeant with the 34th “Red Bull” Infantry Division, 168th Rainbow Regiment from October 1943 to November 1945 where he fought in six major engagements, including the famed battles of Casino Monistary and Anzio.
