Spc. Kip Watson from Sabina, uses a protractor to help find a specific point on a military map, April 1 at the Camp Sherman Readiness Center in Chillicothe. Watson, a member of the Chillicothe based 1194th Engineer Company, was taking part in a military map reading refresher course. This training allows a soldier to be able to find their way to different points on a map, without the use of modern GPS devices, or if a GPS device is not available. This way, if a GPS device ever became unusable or unreliable, the soldiers would still be able to complete their mission.
