The large U.S. flag was flown June 14, 2019, at the garrison flagpole in observance of Flag Day and the 244th Army birthday at Fort McCoy, Wis. The flag is only flown on special occasions. Directorate of Emergency Services personnel oversaw the posting of the flag. The flag flying also was just a small part of the activities the installation held to observe the Army birthday.
