Austin Duff, executive officer of the Independence-class littoral combat ship USS Montgomery (LCS 8), receives the Seal of Eastern Mindanao Command from Philippine Navy Seaman 2nd Class Edgevil Intak during a scheduled port visit to Davao City. Fast, agile and mission-focused, littoral combat ships are designed to operate in near-shore environments. Montgomery is on her first deployment and currently deployed to Southeast Asia.
