190619-M-QF372-1429 Sweden (June 19, 2019) – U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Dillon, a machine gunner with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, holds security with a M240B machine gun during a tactics exercise for Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) 2019. The Marines a part of Charlie Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, maneuvered and assaulted an objective as a company for the exercise. BALTOPS is an annual joint, multinational maritime-focused exercise. It is designed to improve training for participants, enhance flexibility and interoperability, and demonstrate resolve among allied and partner forces in defending the Baltic Sea region.
