Filmmaker Suzanne DeLaurentiis breaks for a photo with members of the Oregon National Guard’s 1249th Engineer Company who recently returned from Afghanistan, March 10, in Salem, Ore., at a career and benefits fair for veterans. In 2010, DeLaurentiis received the ORCOM award (an award rarely bestowed to civilians) for her work with returning veterans. At the recent event, Delauarentiis committed to hiring veterans for her films sets, secured a $10,000 donation for the Oregon National Guard Emergency Relief Fund, and was awarded an inscribed Myrtlewood plaque by the Oregon National Guard’s reintegration program.
