Mark Palmer, outgoing commanding officer of Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 12, relinquished command to Col. Douglas DeWolfe, commanding officer of MAG-12. Nicknamed “the ready group,” MAG-12 operates throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility, supporting numerous operations, exercises and humanitarian aid missions since it’s relocation to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan in 1973.
