The III Marine Expeditionary Force band performs before a change of command ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, June 20, 2019. Col. Mark Palmer, outgoing commanding officer of Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 12, relinquished command to Col. Douglas DeWolfe, commanding officer of MAG-12. Nicknamed “the ready group,” MAG-12 operates throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility, supporting numerous operations, exercises and humanitarian aid missions since it’s relocation to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan in 1973.
