Staff Sgt. Matthew Crowder, a native of Holland, Mich., is awarded an Army Commendation Medal for exceptional service at an awards ceremony Sept. 1 at Camp Striker, Iraq. Crowder serves with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) out of Fort Drum, N.Y., which is currently deployed to the area south of Baghdad.
