Hands-on refresher TCCC training... Naval Hospital Bremerton’s Senior Sailor of the Quarter, Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Jonathan Faletoi, had students such as HM1 Maria DeSouza, go through vital procedural steps in the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) program such as being able to handle primary and secondary patient assessment, administering CPR, shock recognition, spinal stabilization, casualty drag and carry, dealing with airway emergencies, hemorrhage control, chest needle decompression, and applying splinting and pressure dressings. For many corpsman, TCCC might be the only training on trauma before they deploy, and Faletoi and other instructors ensured all participants were prepared to handle casualties on the field of battle (Official Navy photo by Douglas H Stutz, Naval Hospital Bremerton Public Affairs).
